Arlene D. Luu is an associate with the firm. She earned her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from San Diego State University (BSN 1994) and her Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law (JD 2006). She has over twelve years of experience as a registered nurse and has practiced in a variety of areas including skilled nursing and long-term care, acute care, nursing administration, case management, and nursing education.
While attending law school, Arlene served as secretary and then president of the Health Law Society. She was involved in coordinating guest speaker events, philanthropic activities, speaking to various groups in the community regarding health law topics and she published articles in several law school journals. Arlene interned at the Department of Justice, Bureau of Medical Fraud and Elder Abuse, the City Attorney's Domestic Violence Unit and in the legal research department of the San Diego Superior Court. Arlene achieved dean's list status for multiple trimesters and in her second year of law school, she earned the Dean's scholarship award during her last two years of law school for her academic achievements.
Arlene has worked as a law clerk in health care litigation and as an associate, defending health care providers in medical malpractice and professional licensure and liability matters. Arlene will be focusing her practice on the defense of skilled and other long-term care facilities.
Arlene is a member of the San Diego Bar Association and The San Diego Defense Lawyers.
