Mary P. Miller is an associate
with the firm. Mary has focused her practice on the defense of the
long term care industry, both residential care facilities for the
elderly and skilled nursing facilities. Mary is an experienced
litigation attorney representing healthcare providers against
allegations of elder abuse and neglect, fraud, willful misconduct,
unlawful business practices, and professional malpractice.
Mary has over 23 years experience as a registered nurse
and this experience allows her to bring a unique and real world
perspective to each case and the ability to understand the special
needs of each client. Additionally, Mary works closely with
long term care facilities advising them on regulatory and risk
management issues.
Mary received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in 1983
from the University of Maryland. Upon graduation, Mary was
commissioned an Ensign in the United States Navy where she has
honorably served as a Nurse Corps Officer for the past 23 years.
She is currently a Captain in the Navy Reserves. Mary Received
her law degree from City University of New York (J.D. 2002) where
she was honored with the Student Leadership Award (2001), served
as the President of the Public Interest Law Association, was an
articles editor for the New York City Law Review, and competed
on the Moot Court Team.
Mary is a member of The San Diego Bar Association, The
Lawyers Club of San Diego, The Association of Southern California
Defense Counsel, and The American Association of Nurse Attorneys.
She is admitted to practice in the Southern and Central United
States District Courts of California.
