William C. Getty is a partner of the firm and an AV rated attorney by LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell. As an undergraduate at the University of San Diego (B.A., cum
laude, 1985), Bill majored in Business Economics where he graduated with
departmental honors. Before entering law school, he was a financial
analyst and marketer of mortgage securities for Wells Fargo in San
Diego. He received his law degree from the University of San Diego Law
School (J.D., 1991), where he graduated in the top 14 percent of his
class.
Bill is an experienced business attorney and litigator in the
fields of real estate, construction, business and entity formation. Bill
also has extensive insurance coverage and environmental experience.
In addition, Bill has handled numerous matters involving products
liability, toxic torts and chemical exposure. Further, he has
represented defendants in complex class action lawsuits involving claims
for products liability, unfair competition and complex business matters.
Bill has represented several major manufacturers and companies,
including Rheem Manufacturing Company, Raypak, Inc., The Dow Chemical
Company, Dow Corning, Pharmacia & Upjohn and Unocal Corporation.
In order to serve his clients throughout the state of California
at the Federal level, Bill is admitted to practice before the United
States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, as well as the United
States District Court for the Southern, Central and Eastern Districts of
California.
