William C. Wilson is a partner of
the firm. He attended the University of San Diego School of Law (J.D.,
1990), and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (B.A., 1985).
While in law school, Bill participated in the Tort and Evidence Law Moot
Court Competitions, and interned with the San Diego City Attorney's
Office.
Bill's practice focuses on the defense of long term health care
facilities, including residential care and skilled nursing facilities.
He has successfully defended long term care clients in actions filed by
residents and family members raising claims involving intentional acts
and violations of the Elder Abuse Act and Business and Professions Code
section 17200. Bill regularly represents facilities in administrative
hearings involving alleged regulatory violations. Bill is a member of
the Legal Subcommittee of the California Association of Healthcare
Facilities and is a frequent speaker on long term care litigation and
related topics.
Bill's practice also includes defending clients in general
liability matters primarily involving personal injury claims with an
emphasis on common carriers, bus lines and trucking companies. Most of
these cases involve motor vehicle accidents ranging from soft tissue
injuries to wrongful death.
Bill has tried numerous jury trials to verdict and bench trials.
Also, he has represented clients in over 120 non-binding arbitrations,
many binding uninsured motorist arbitrations, and has handled numerous
administrative hearings and mediations.
Bill holds a "BV" rating by Martindale-Hubbell, is a member of
the State Bar of California, San Diego County Bar Association, Elder Law
Section and San Diego Defense Lawyers. He is also a member of the
Association of Healthcare Facilities.
